About Little Gold

Welcome to Little Gold Farm! We are a small-scale regenerative sheep farm and ethically managed apiary in the rolling foothills of Albemarle County, Virginia (just outside of the city of Charlottesville, Virginia). We, husband and wife team Troy and Lauren, own and operate the farm alongside our two young children, guided by a simple ethos: what we feed our family, we feed our community.

We offer raw wildflower honey, grass-fed and pasture-raised lamb, raw fine wool, and pasture-raised chicken eggs. We steward the land with care for our animals, soil, and water—without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, or GMOs.

Our sheep graze rotationally across diverse pastures, ultimately turning grass into tender, nutritious meat and beautiful fine wool. This grazing system supports meat quality, animal health, and soil vitality. Troy, a certified sheep shearer, shears our flock each spring.

Our hilltop hives produce exceptional raw honey, harvested only once or twice a year. Lauren, a professionally trained pastry chef, occasionally finds a moment to celebrate farm ingredients through small-batch, market-friendly treats.

The name Little Gold comes from “Lille Gull,” a colloquial Norwegian term of endearment formerly given to a beloved family member—a reminder that our farm is rooted in love.
